Developing people on the inside - Penna Education appoints Head of Education

Since the launch of Penna’s partnership with ESPO in January, their education division has been growing from strength to strength. Penna pride themselves on being there for clients and candidates when it matters most and it’s no different for employees too. They’re developing talent on the inside of their organisation and investing in training, workshops, flexible benefits and more.

Penna Education, who are the first agency to have an in-house programmatic desk, also just made their first major leadership appointment in 2021. Jane Johns, who’s worked in the Education sector more than 20 years, will take on the role of Head of Education, serving on Penna’s education division for their student recruitment network. She told us, “we’re all experienced in the sector – some of us (ahem) for a number of decades – but whilst we differ in age, we come together with our love of how, and more importantly, who we do, what we do for – our clients.”

In 4 years working at Penna, Jane has been leading the team in all aspects whilst working closely client side at senior management level. Her commitment has always been and will continue to be working with universities across the HE spectrum and promoting the Penna ethos of interacting at all levels. “We’re HE nerds to be honest but that doesn’t stop us innovating,” says Jane.

We caught up with Jane to find out what her mission is in 2021 as the team continues to find, excite and secure HE talent. “We’re really, really great at working with our university clients in overachieving whilst overcoming any obstacle that’s thrown at us. So, whilst we continue to achieve prestigious memberships of frameworks such as ESPO – one of only two education focused agencies to do this – we also strikeout, innovate and push ourselves to not just deliver but over-deliver as a matter of course.”
